This espresso martini-style serve shakes a measured 1.5 oz pour of Ocho Verde Espresso (about 6mg hemp-derived THC) with cold brew concentrate or chilled espresso and a little simple syrup. There is no vodka and no coffee liqueur, so it stays zero proof.
Why it works
Ocho Verde Espresso already tastes of espresso roast with notes of cocoa, caramel and toasted vanilla, so it does the job that coffee liqueur does in the classic drink. A hard shake gives the frothy top.
Ingredients (one serving)
- 1.5 oz Ocho Verde Espresso (about 6mg THC)
- 1 oz cold brew concentrate or freshly brewed espresso, chilled
- 1/2 oz simple syrup (optional, to taste)
- Ice
- 3 coffee beans to garnish
Method
- Chill a coupe or martini glass.
- Measure 1.5 oz Ocho Verde Espresso with a jigger into a shaker.
- Add the cold brew or chilled espresso and the simple syrup, then fill the shaker with ice.
- Shake hard for 15 to 20 seconds to build the foam.
- Strain into the chilled glass and float three coffee beans on top.
One serving per person. Wait before having another: effects can be delayed by two hours or more. Zero proof only, so do not add beer, wine or liquor. Do not drive after drinking it.
Tips and swaps
- Use chilled espresso, not hot: hot coffee melts the ice and thins the foam.
- Want it sweeter? Add a little more simple syrup or a dash of vanilla syrup.
- Ocho Verde Original (Vanilla) works too, for a vanilla-forward version.

How much THC is in this drink?
About 6mg. The recipe uses one 1.5 oz pour of Ocho Verde Espresso, and each 750mL bottle holds 100mg THC (about 4mg per 1 oz). For a lighter drink, use 1 oz, about 4mg.
Can I add coffee liqueur or vodka?
No. Coffee liqueur and vodka contain alcohol, and we do not recommend mixing THC drinks with alcohol. Ocho Verde Espresso brings the coffee flavor on its own.
Does it contain caffeine?
The cold brew or espresso you add contains caffeine. Use decaf espresso if you prefer.
